Orctober Is Open: 31 Prompts, Any Medium

Orctober is Orcwood’s month-long community art event. Throughout October 2026 we post one creative prompt a day — 31 in all — and invite everyone to answer them with their own artwork. It is not a drawing-only contest: the point is to make something, however you like to make things, and share it with other people who are doing the same.

Orctober has begun. Every day this month a new art prompt opens, starting today with "The first orc" and ending on Halloween with "King of the pumpkins". Take each one wherever you like.

Any medium is welcome: paint, sculpt, photograph, craft, or create digitally. When your piece is done, upload an image or photo of it — PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF, up to 5 MB. You get one original entry per prompt.

Each prompt opens at midnight Eastern on its date and stays open for the rest of the month, so a missed day is never a lost one. Catch up on earlier prompts whenever you have the time.

Every entry is reviewed by the studio before it is shared. Once approved, it joins the gallery under your public Orcwood handle, where anyone signed in can vote for it. The Orctober page shows the day’s prompt alongside its most-liked entries, and the gallery ranks everything by votes.

Judging and prizes will be announced during the event. For now: pick a prompt, make something strange, and send it in.
